Lucy Lecy, age 83, died peacefully at MeritCare, Fargo, ND, on April 28, 2009.
Lucy was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and friend who shared her time, talent, and all she had to enrich our lives. We will miss her forever.
Lucy was a voracious reader of newspapers, magazines, and books and a follower of Minnesota politics. If you were lucky enough to have her homemade bread and caramel rolls, you were lucky enough. She was still knitting right up until the end and had projects planned for years to come.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lecy. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Marla (Joe) Friederichs and grandsons, Sam and Jake, who were blessed with having Lucy as a constant presence in their lives. She will also be missed by son, Douglas (Vickie) Lecy, grandchildren, Erin, Kevin (Audrey), and great-grandson, Bryan.
A special thank you to Phyllis Anderson for her loving friendship and care and for getting her to move to Crossing at Water's Edge where her last three years were filled with joy and laughter (and card games).
We will honor her last wishes in that no funeral or memorial service will be held. She hated being the center of attention right to the very end.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you send memorials to honor Lucy to a charity that has touched your heart as she has touched all of ours.
