Lyall A. Elstad, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND, at the age of 76.
Lyall Athelyn Bailey, daughter of William and Libby (Pearson) Bailey, was born January 13, 1930, in Little Falls, MN. The family left Little Falls in 1942, moving to Perham, MN, and later to Milwaukee, WI. In 1945 they made their home in Fargo, where Lyall graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1947. She was employed by Northwestern Bell, Fargo, working as a service representative.
Lyall was united in marriage to Kenneth Elstad on August 28, 1948 in Moorhead,, where the couple made their home.
Lyall is survived by her husband, Kenneth, Moorhead; two daughters, Karen (William John) Wilson, West Fargo, ND, and Nancy (Gary) Johnson, Dayton, Ohio; five sons, Michael, Moorhead, Thomas (Nancy) West Fargo, Robert (Karen), Ramsey MN, Keith, St. Louis Park, MN, and Daniel (Terri), Moorhead; two sisters, Viola (Don) Wernig, Mount Prospect, IL, and Jean Wilken, Fargo; 11 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
Visitation: Sunday, June 4, 2006 - 4 PM to 7 PM,
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN, with a prayer service at 6 PM.
Funeral Mass: Monday, June 5, 2006 - 2 PM,
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Interment: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
