Lyle R. Beling, 82, rural Lake Park, MN, died Monday, June 14, 2010, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.
Lyle Roland Beling, the son of Robert and Edith (Mikkelson) Beling, was born in Great Bend, ND, on April 6, 1928. He grew up in Britton, SD, where he graduated from high school. As a young man, he moved to Fargo, and attended Interstate Business College.
On June 29, 1950, Lyle was married to Delores "Susie" Reed, in Fargo. In January of 1952, he entered the US Army, where he served overseas in Okinawa. He was discharged in 1954, and returned to the FM area. Lyle worked for Red Owl, and later for the Moorhead Hornbacher's as an assistant grocery manager. He retired in 1990.
After retiring, the couple spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ, and summers at their lake home on Turtle Lake, south of Lake Park, MN. His life was his family, his friends, and time at the lake.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Delores "Susie" Beling, rural Lake Park; daughter, Janice (Jeff) Ganje, Harwood, ND; grandson, Kevin (Savannah) Ganje, Galesburg, ND; two great-granddaughters, Jordynn and Alisynn; a sister, Beverly Douglas; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Beling and Gloria Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lloyd; a sister, Barbara Liebenow; and a brothers-in-law, Wallace "Buddy" Reed and Stan Douglas.
