Lyle E. Romuld, age 86, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in his home in Eventide Catered Living in Moorhead, where he had lived the past few years.
Lyle, the son of Emil and Freda (Wentzel) Romuld, was born in Crookston, MN, on October 16, 1927. The family lived in Crookston prior to moving to McIntosh, MN, and Minneapolis, MN. The family moved to Moorhead, where Lyle graduated from high school in 1947.
After graduation, Lyle joined the North Dakota Air National Guard. During the Korean Conflict, he served on active duty in the US Air Force for two years. He returned to the air guard, both as a member of the guard, and as a civilian employee. He worked as a jet mechanic and retired in 1985.
Lyle played in and was president of the Moorhead Horseshoe League; bowled in a senior league for several years; and played softball in the air guard league. Lyle enjoyed polka music and the Lutheran Hour on the radio.
Finally, Lyle was a real baseball fan. He often had several games on radio and TV at the same time.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Norma Bergum and Ella Eggers; and brothers, Edwin, Harry, Morris and Oliver Romuld. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, June 23, 2014, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
