Lyle I. Tollerud

Lyle Idan Tollerud was born February 15, 1933, in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Idan and Hilda (Grina) Tollerud. Lyle was raised in that area, attended District 48 School and Pelican Rapids High School. He graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture, in Crookston, MN, on March 24, 1950.
Lyle entered the US Navy in March of 1951 and served until March of 1955. He was united in marriage to Jeannine Thiemann, at Spirit Lake, IA, in March of 1958. Lyle worked for Western Airlines in Minneapolis, MN, Pierre, SD, and eventually Las Vegas, NV. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1995.
They continued to make their home in Las Vegas. Jeannine preceded Lyle in death on January 5, 2006, and Lyle moved to Moorhead, MN, in November of 2007.
In the presence of his family, Lyle died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at seventy-six years of age.
Lyle is survived by his brother, Manley (Elenora) Tollerud, Apple Valley, MN; a sister, Eunice Wold, Ulen, MN; a number of nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jean Tollerud, Hood River, OR.
In addition to his wife, Lyle was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Tollerud.
The Memorial Service for Lyle will be Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 1 PM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
