Lyndon Delbert Hovland, 81, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at River Pointe of Moorhead Assisted Living.

Lyndon was born March 13, 1931, the son of Lloyd and Lydia (Zimmerman) Hovland in Rothsay, MN, where he grew up and graduated from high school. On July 13, 1952, Lyndon was united in marriage to LaVonne Jackson from Barnesville, MN. Shortly after their wedding they moved to Germany, where Lyndon was stationed with the US Army. In 1954, they moved to Barnesville and Lyndon began his banking career at First National Bank. In June of 1963, Lyndon and his family moved to Moorhead. Lyndon continued to make his home in Moorhead where he remained active in many different activities. He enjoyed attending Moorhead Spuds and Concordia Cobbers basketball games, spending time at the lake, and being with family and friends. In July of 1998, Lyndon married Beverly Hendricksen and they made their home in Fargo, ND. Lyndon and Bev enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lakes. Beverly died in February of 2003. Lyndon continued to enjoy time at Lake Lida, spending time drinking coffee and socializing with all his 'beach buddies.'

Lyndon was a member of C-400 at Concordia College and a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where he served on many committees, most recently on the Trust Committee.
