Mardrie Ann Fladgard, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND.
Mardrie was born in Denver, CO, to George and Mildred (Davis) Feil, Jr. on February 16, 1931. The family lived in Windom, MN, where she was raised. She graduated from Windom High School in 1949 and was active in the high school chorus, girls' sextet, orchestra, drama club and speech competitions.
On July 22, 1951, Mardrie Ann was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Fladgard, at the First United Methodist Church in Windom. They lived in Colorado, Georgia, and California while Ken served in the military. In 1957, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD, and in 1973 to Moorhead.
Mardrie worked as a secretary at First National Bank in Windom and at Mark Twain Elementary School in Sioux Falls.
Mardrie enjoyed golfing, bowling, embroidering, playing bridge and all card games, and reading. She was an avid MSUM Dragon Women's Basketball fan and follower. She volunteered at St. Ansgar and St. Luke's hospitals along with helping with weddings and funerals at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she was a loyal member for over 45 years.
Her greatest joy was her family. She will always be remembered for her cheerful disposition and bright smile-she will always be 'our sunshine'!
Mardrie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ken; children, Julie Fladgard and Jill Kemmer; grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, and Jaimie Kemmer, all of Moorhead; sisters-in-law, Joanne Christoffer and Marilyn Walker; and brother-in-law, Donald Fladgard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Jerry Kemmer.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Sanford Hospice House and its staff for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Mardrie.
Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead. Interment will be in Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bergen, MN, at a later date.
