Margaret Agnes (Johnson) Anderson, R.N. was born to Inga and Jalmer Johnson on October 27th, 1928 in Fosston, MN. Margaret passed on to eternal life on May 30th at the age of 80, in Moorhead, MN. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1946 and Deaconess School of Nursing in Grand Forks in 1949. On December 9, 1949 she married Robert Neal Anderson of Fosston. Together they raised a family of 5 children living in Fosston until 1960 where Margaret worked part time at the Fosston Hospital. She was a nurse at Pioneer Nursing Home in Erskine until 1966. In 1966 they moved to Fargo ND where Margaret worked at the Fargo Nursing Home. The family moved to Mesa AZ in 1970 and she worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Golden Mesa Nursing Home and then was asked to set up and manage a new Critical Extended Care unit at Mesa Christian Home. She worked there until she and Bob moved back to Fargo ND in 1978. She was the school nurse at Oak Grove Lutheran High School from 1983 to 1989. She loved working as a nurse in all settings, but especially had a calling for geriatric care.
Margaret enjoyed singing, bird-watching, gardening, painting, hiking in the woods and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord Jesus and singing His praises.
Surviving members of her family include sons and daughters: Linda Anderson (Holly Little) Lincoln NE; Galen Anderson (Val), Tempe AZ; Ross Anderson (Joanne), Baytown TX; and Mary Hinman (Dock), Fargo ND. She has 10 grandchildren: Heather Tyndall- Neo (Koon Tian); Paul Anderson (Lynn); Daniel Anderson (Kelly); Jacob Anderson (Emily); Matthew Anderson; Timothy Anderson; Jared Anderson; Stephen Hinman (Andrea); Inga Hinman; Carin Hinman and foster grandson Leno Topia. She has 4 great grandchildren: Eric and Emaleigh Neo, and Thane and Alexius Hinman.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob, oldest daughter Lynette Tyndall, brother Orland Johnson, sister Ruth Johnson and her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 10 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead MN, and at 2 PM in Grace Chapel, Minerva MN. Her ashes will be inurned at Fort Snelling National Cemetery alongside her husband Bob. Memorials suggested to Grace Chapel, Hospice of the Red River Valley or Oak Grove High School Flood Restoration Fund.
