Margaret Ogren

Margaret Ann Anderson was born November 6, 1930, on a farmstead north of Hawley, MN, the oldest of six children born to Carl and Martha (Luthi) Anderson. They were of Swedish descent and attended Highland Grove Lutheran Church.

Margaret graduated from Hawley High School in 1948, and then worked in a number of secretarial positions. On October 17, 1952, Margaret married Ronald Ogren, a Swedish farmer, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.

They lived in California for a brief time, and then returned to make their home on his farm in south Moorhead, near the present-day Rivershore Drive area. They later moved into Moorhead. Ronald was an accountant and a minister while Margaret stayed at home raising their children. Ronald died February 15, 2005.

Margaret was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, flowers, cooking, Sunday drives, and taking care of all the kids. She had a very gentle and nurturing nature.

Margaret moved to Hillsboro (ND) Care Center in April of 2010. She lived her final days at Hillsboro Medical Center, where she died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at eighty-two years of age.

She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Bantau, Everett, WA, and Linda VanDyke, Newport, OR; four grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Rachel, and Hannah; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, and Jordan; two brothers, Charles (Susie) Anderson, Hillsboro, and James (Eileen) Anderson, Hawley, MN; and two sisters, Muriel Whiting, Fort Collins, CO, and Marilyn (Duane) Fogel, Wahkon, MN.

Visitation for Margaret will begin at 12:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2013, followed by the funeral at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Hillsboro Care Center. Burial will be Friday at 3:30 PM, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
