Margaret R. Nordick

December 6, 1918 — August 21, 2006

Margaret Rose Nordick, 87, Moorhead, MN, received a seat at the eternal banquet table of the Lord on Monday, August 21, 2006. She died at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.


Margaret Hollerbach was born December 6, 1918, in St. Paul, MN, to Joseph and Christina (Betz) Hollerbach. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and commercial high school in St. Paul.


She married Laurence Nordick on March 2, 1946, in St. Paul. They moved to the Kent, MN, area where they lived and farmed. They farmed there until 1955, at which time they bought another small farm near Foxhome, MN. In November of 1963, they moved to Moorhead. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an outstanding witness of the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. She didn't have to preach it. She lived it. One only had to be in her presence for a few moments to see the light of Jesus.


Margaret is survived by seven daughters Kathleen (Dennis) Gress, Glendale, AZ, Lorraine (Jim) Hanna, San Antonio, TX, Therese (Al) Salava, Hudson, WI, Sharon (Tom) Hoey, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Christine (Marty) Moulds, Kent City, MI, Beatrice (Tom) Romanowski, Oak Grove, MN, and Peggy Nordick, Fergus Falls, MN; two sons, Larry (Jen Severn) Nordick, Moorhead, and Michael Nordick, Oakdale, MN; son-in-law, Louis Parenteau, Rice, MN; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Catherine Voight, Hastings, MN; and one brother, Joseph (Reba) Hollerbach, St. Paul.


In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Patricia Parenteau; three sisters, Rose Sieber, Hildegarde Hollerbach, and Helen Nordick; three brothers, Al Hollerbach, Jerome Hollerbach, and Francis Hollerbach; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.


Visitation for Margaret will be Wednesday, August 23, 2006, from 5 PM - 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and at the church one hour before the Mass


Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 24, 2006, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.


Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to either the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
