Margaret Swenson

Margaret J. Swenson, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, in Twin Valley (MN) Living Center, at the age of 95.

Margaret J. Blotsky was born Sept. 23, 1922, to Joseph and Phyllis (Stienert) Blotsky, in Solen, ND, where she attended school. The family later moved to New Rockford, ND, where she graduated from St. James Academy High School. She moved to Moorhead and worked at Fairmont Creamery.

Margaret was married to Arnt P. Swenson, February 28, 1943, in Moorhead. They lived in Moorhead, and Margaret worked for 30 years at St. Ansgar Hospital. Her husband, Arnt, died on February 26, 2003. After his death, she continued to live in Moorhead until 2013, when she became a resident of Twin Valley Living Center.

Margaret is survived by two children, Don (Dianne) Swenson, Moorhead, and Virginia Olson, Dilworth, MN; four grandchildren, Todd (Lynn) Swenson, Karen Motschenbacher, Michelle Flynn, and Kevin (Lindsey) Olson; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; ten brothers and sisters; her son-in-law, Ronald Olson; and two grandchildren, Carla Bergee and Jake Flynn.

Visitation for Margaret will be Thursday, from 5 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral Mass will be Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
