Marian C. Myhrum, 73, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, March 13, 2009, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.

Marian Christine Larson was born November 15, 1935, in Holt, MN, to Ludvig and Gena (Arnevik) Larson. Marian grew up in Thief River Falls, MN, with her aunt, Amanda Larson. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1953, and then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo.

Marian worked in Duluth, MN, and Minneapolis, MN. In 1963, she married Don Jenson. In 1974, she moved to Fosston, MN. Marian married Rodney Myhrum in 1976 in Erskine, MN. In 2000, they moved to Dilworth, MN.

Marian taught dog obedience in Minneapolis and Fosston for twenty-eight years. She was involved in the 4-H Dog Project teaching dog obedience and judging dog shows. She also judged at the County, Regional and State shows.

In Fosston, Marian and Rodney owned and operated the Rest Easy Boarding Home and the Bow Wow Shop grooming and boarding for dogs. She showed her own dogs in Canada and in the United States, winning many titles with them.
Marian was a member of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and a life member of the VFW Post 2793. Because of her love of genealogy, she was also a member of the Red River Swedish Society and the American Swedish Society.

Marian is lovingly survived by her husband, Rodney; two brothers, Clifford (Eleanor) Larson and Durlyn (Linda) Rux; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, ChiCa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bette Rux Lord and Gilma Larson; and a brother, Reube Larson.



A Memorial Service for Marian will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11 AM in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.
