Marian B. Prim, 93, of Fargo, ND, died in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, on Saturday, October 21, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Marian Bernice Johnson, the daughter of Edwin and Borgil (Dillerud) Johnson, was born March 1, 1924, in Norwegian Grove Township, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in the Pelican Rapids, MN, where she graduated from high school.

On May 25, 1946, Marian was united in marriage to Frank Prim, at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids. They lived in Fargo and managed Oakland Market. In 1952, they returned to Pelican Rapids, where they farmed.
In 1966, they moved back to Fargo, farmed at Pelican Rapids. and operated Oakland Market. Oakland Market was a gathering spot for family and friends with a good cup of coffee and cookies. They retired from farming in 1984, and retired and closed the store in 1991.

Marian was a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she continued to be active. Frank and Marian enjoyed dancing at the Sons of Norway and Eagles. They also enjoyed camping in their motorhome. She had a gift for sewing and baking, and will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies and apple pies. She was a gift to her friends and family and truly showed love, patience, compassion, and understanding. Above all else, she gave of herself and her time to those who knew her. She made us all know how much she loved us. Her grandchildren were given the gift of a grandma who taught the basics of life, plain and simple. She gave them a foundation for this changing world, and how you as one person can rise above it and make a difference.
