Marian E. Tchouban died Thursday, November 24, 2005, in the Moorhead Healthcare Center at 84 years of age.
Marian Elvera Wegner was born August 28, 1921, in Moorhead to Otto and Bessie (Rensvold) Wegner. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1939. Marian worked at Newberry's Department Store from 1940 to 1944. In 1944, she entered the Cadet Nurse Program and graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1947, fulfilling her life long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.
Marian was united in marriage to George Tchouban on October 23, 1948, in Moorhead where they made their home for the next 56 years. Marian perfected the role of wife, mother, and homemaker. She returned to the nursing field in 1967 and worked as a recovery room nurse at St. Ansgar's Hospital, Moorhead until her retirement in 1981. Her husband George died on February 12, 2005.
Marian was a natural caregiver and used her gift to touch the lives of all around her. Throughout her life, she was actively involved with various local and world missions. She will be remembered for her generous heart and caring spirit.
Marian is survived by her children; a son, George (Lynn), Denver, CO; a daughter, RuthAnne (Bill) Huston, Sierra Vista, AZ; a brother, Bob (Alice Mae) Wegner, Moorhead; a sister, Betty (Spencer) Smith, Brookline Station, MO; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two nieces and five nephews.
In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Orrin.
