Marie Johansen was born January 25, 1915, in rural Moorhead, MN, to Gustav and Marie (Anderson) Johansen. Marie attended rural schools for her education and attended Moorhead Normal School.
Marie worked as a housekeeper for a number of families in the Moorhead area but returned to help with the family farming operation south of Moorhead. She entered Moorhead Healthcare Center in February of 2001 where she died Friday, December 12, 2003, at eighty-eight years of age.
Marie is survived by one brother, George (Lucille) Johanson, Moorhead; and one sister, Anna Swanson, Moorhead. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Corrine, Marie, Myrtle and Gladys; and one brother, Olaf.
