Marilyn L. Getz Blilie

Marilyn Getz Blilie, 83, Barnesville, MN, formerly of Wolverton, MN, died Friday, January 5, 2007, in Barnesville Good Samaritan Center.
Marilyn Leona Poppel was born August 20, 1923, to Leo and Tillie (Thompson) Poppel, on the family farm in Wilkin County, near Wolverton, MN. She was raised in that area and attended country schools for her education.
Marilyn married Oswald Getz, February 18, 1939,in Breckenridge, MN, and they lived and farmed in Wilkin County. Oswald died May 6, 1968. Marilyn married Arthur Blilie, August 30, 1969, in Battle Lake, MN, and they made their home in Wolverton. Marilyn worked for American Linen in Fargo, ND, the hardware store in Wolverton, and Econo-Lodge in Fargo. Arthur died September 26, 1992, and Marilyn moved into Moorhead in 1993. She entered the Barnesville Good Samaritan Center in 2002.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Jerome) Kuehl, and Donna Askegaard, both Moorhead, Diana (Alden) Brendemuhl, Felton, MN, and Carol (Helmuth) Leske, West Fargo, ND; son, Dennis (Jane) Getz, Wolverton; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Evelyn Ommodt, Fargo, Lucille Edlund, New Brighton, MN, Virginia Johnson, Moorhead, and Lila Johnson, Williston, ND; step-son, Floyd Blilie, Moorhead; step-daughter-in-law, Donna Blilie, Detroit Lakes, MN; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen; brother, Gordon; two grandchildren, KathyAnn and Monte; son-in-law, Chuck Askegaard; and stepsons, Mel Blilie and Kenny Blilie.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 9, 2007; 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and one hour before the funeral at the church.
Funeral: Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at 11 AM, in Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton.
Burial: Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Wolverton.
