Marilyn M. Kastet

September 2, 1933 — May 1, 2019

Marilyn M. Kastet, 85, of Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Marilyn Marie Nehk was born September 2, 1933, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Chell) Nehk, in rural Fergus Falls, MN. She was raised there and graduated from high school in Fergus Falls.

On April 11, 1959, Marilyn was united in marriage to Evan D. Kastet, in Moorhead. The couple made their home in Moorhead, where their son was born. Marilyn had various jobs in Moorhead over the years including at a dry-cleaning company. Marilyn spent many of her years at home raising and caring for her family.

Marilyn considered herself a country girl, having grown up on a farm. She enjoyed country western music and western movies. She also loved horses and had many dachshunds over the years. Music in general was an important part of Marilyn's life; aside from country, she enjoyed gospel music and would regularly attend polka parties. She and Evan spent many Sunday afternoons taking drives back to rural Fergus Falls and rural Rothsay, MN, to reminisce about their childhoods and time growing up on the farms.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Gary Kastet, Fargo, ND; brothers, Louis (Mardell) and Gary (Nancy). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Evan; brothers, Raymond, Morris, Danny; and sister, Joyce.

A Visitation for Marilyn will be one hour prior to her funeral service.

Her Funeral Service will be Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN.
