Marion E. MacArthur

Marion Estelle Sorenson was born April 17, 1942, to Ralph and Estelle (McMaster) Sorenson. She attended schools in Perley, MN, and later in Fargo, ND, at Clara Barton and Agassiz Junior High. After moving with her family to Moorhead, MN, she attended Moorhead High School, graduating in 1960.

Marion was married in 1963 to Gordon Cannon, and had two sons Todd (Carol) Cannon of Mantorville, MN, and Chris (Mel) Cannon of West Fargo, ND.

In 1976, Marion was hired as the executive assistant to the president of Melroe Bobcat where she worked for twenty-five years, retiring in 2001.

Marion re-married in 1982, to Robert "Butch" MacArthur, who brought Stephanie (Scott) Bundy of Lino Lakes, MN, and Bob (Amy) MacArthur of Moorhead, to the family. Marion and Butch later moved to Fargo in 1984, and recently celebrated their 31st anniversary on February 13th.

Marion passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy stay at Essentia Health Care. She was 70 years young.

Marion is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Alysa and Bailey Cannon, Hadley Banish, Courtney Cannon, Sean and Sarah Bundy, and Oliver MacArthur.

Visitation for Marion will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 11 AM, at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
