Marion Mills

Marion Boit was born October 11, 1919, to Louis and Antoinette (Cancelliere) Boit in Moorhead, MN, where she grew up and received her education. On February 12, 1942, was married to Clifton Mills in Dilworth, MN, where they made their home. Marion spent many enjoyable summers at the lake, with her family. Marion worked as a waitress and bar tender for more than 70 years. She owned and operated Mills Lounge in Dilworth, from 1961 until the time of her death. She enjoyed working at her business, and especially being with her customers. Marion was honored to be selected to be grand marshall of the Dilworth "Loco Days" in 2002. Clifton passed away on January 28, 1993. Marion continued to live and work in Dilworth.
Marion Mills died Thursday, February 16, 2006, in Rosewood on Broadway, in Fargo, ND, at the age of 86.
She will be forever remembered by her family for the strength she has shown throughout her life and into her final courageous battle with cancer. Marion loved her children, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marion is survived by four sisters, Pat Gaustad, Waseca, MN, Camille Becker, Austin, MN, Gladys Masters, Butte, MT, and Lorraine Tix, Sun Prairie, WI; two sons Clifton "Butch" Mills, Dilworth, MN, and Gary (Marlys) Mills, Lewiston, MN; one daughter Shanna (John) Olness, Scottsdale, AZ; three grandsons, Gary (Jo) Mills II, Chicago, IL, Mark (Beth) Mills, Charlotte, NC, and Jordan Olness, Scottsdale; two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Sawyer Mills; and many nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton; parents; sister, Rose Knoll; and brother, Jimmy Boit.
The family thanks the staff at Rosewood on Broadway for their wonderful care. Also, special thanks to Marion's dear friend, Betty Anderson, for all her many kindnesses.
