Marjorie L. Davis

Marjorie Davis, 93, Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, September 10, 2018, in Bethany on University.
Marjorie Leone Sanger was born on January 26, 1925, in Hazen, ND, to Otto and Alice (Clark) Sanger. She spent the first part of her life in Hazen but the great depression forced Otto and Alice to move to Crookston, MN, and then Glyndon, MN, where they owned and farmed land north of Highway 10.
She married Orville Davis on September 6, 1946, in Glyndon after Orville returned from World War II. They moved to Moorhead and after working for the IRS for a short time, Marjorie was employed as a stenographer at American State Bank until they had their son, John.
While raising their son, Orville and Marjorie enjoyed fishing and playing cards with their family and friends on Fridays and Saturdays. They also had a large garden behind their house that they tended. After John was out of school, Marjorie went to work as a caregiver for the city of Moorhead until retiring.
Marjorie loved her family and spent much time with them. Each Sunday the family played pinochle, as well as cheering on the Vikings and Twins. It was common for her to share lunch with her family during the week as well. She was loved and gave love throughout her life with an irreplaceable spirit which will be dearly missed.
Marjorie is survived by her son, John (Bonnie) of Fargo; grandchildren, Nicholas (fiancé Miranda Koch) and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Taylor Radtke Jr., Anthony, Vincent, and Emmet.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; brothers, Milton, Paul, William, Bernard, Earl, Edgar, and Robert; sisters, Lydia, Gertrude, and Edna.
Funeral Service will be in the Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany on University, 201 S. University Dr., Fargo, at 2 PM on Monday, September 17, 2018, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
