Mark R. Naumann

Mark Ronald Naumann, 62, Moorhead, MN, died unexpectedly on May 30, 2014.

Mark was born on March 6, 1952, in Mora, MN to Ronald and Mary Ann (Rabbe) Naumann. He graduated from Mora High School in 1970 and from Concordia College, Moorhead, in 1974, with a business administration major and English minor.

Mark met Janet Kiefer at Concordia College and they married on May 25, 1974. Mark and Janet recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Mark started his banking career at Norwest/Wells Fargo and joined Alerus Financial in 1998 and was the Senior Relationship Manager.

Mark recently served on the board of directors of First Link Information and Crisis Services and Technology Access Foundation. He was an active multiple-committee member with the Chamber of Commerce of Fargo Moorhead and Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead. Mark was a past board member and past president of the FM Symphony, past board member of the YMCA of NDSU, the Fargo Downtown Business Association, the FM Opera Company and the Nokomis Childcare Center. Mark was a veteran fundraiser for the business division of Concordia College's C-400 program, and he was a council member and past congregation president at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead.

Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet; his children, Katherine (Jordan) Moe of Jamestown, ND, John Naumann (fiancée, Jenny Reierson) both of Minneapolis, MN, and Matthew Naumann of Moorhead. He is also survived by his siblings, Dan (Jane) Naumann of Columbia Heights, MN, Barb Naumann of Mora; brothers-in-law, Frank Cruse of Mesa, AZ, Jeff Kiefer of Nagshead, NC, Jay Kiefer of Livingston, MT; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Julie Cruse; father-in-law, Jacob (Bud) Kiefer; and mother-in-law, June Kiefer.

Mark will be remembered for his love for his family, his church and the Fargo-Moorhead community. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation: Thursday, June 5, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead. Memorial Service: Friday, June 6, 2014, at 11 AM in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with interment to follow at the columbarium at Good Shepherd.
