Marlys Gaugler, age 84, died Monday, August 10, 2009, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, where she had been a resident since 1993.
Marlys Edel Lorine Mattson, the daughter of Hilbert and Christine (Bernhardson) Mattson was born April 23, 1925, rural Comstock, MN. She grew up and attended school in the Comstock area. She graduated from Comstock High School in 1943, attended Fargo Business College, and worked as a bookkeeper.
On August 30, 1952, Marlys married Lowell F. Gaugler, in Comstock. Following their marriage, they made their home in Moorhead, MN. Lowell died on August 4, 1993.
Marlys is survived by two children, Neva (Richard) Paulson, Long Prairie, MN, and Neal (Linda) Gaugler, Horace, ND; sister, Vivian (Walter) Stenson, Moorhead; and four grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Marlys was preceded in death by a son, Rory; her parents; and three sisters.
Visitation: One hour prior to services.
Funeral Service: Friday, August 14, 2009, at 2:00 PM, in the Bottolfson Chapel of Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Burial: Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
