Marlys Lorraine Chrissis

November 23, 1929 — September 2, 2013

Marlys Lorraine (Olson) Chrissis passed away unexpectedly in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND, on Monday, September 2, 2013. Marlys was born in Heimdal, ND, on November 23, 1929, to Helmer and Matilda (Christiansen) Olson. She graduated from high school in Maddock, ND.

Marlys married John Chrissis on March 21, 1955, in Dilworth, MN, where they made their home. Marlys was a hard worker and had several jobs during her lifetime. She worked at the Pheasant Café, Warehouse Market, Silverline Industries, and Dilworth Lutheran Church. She took great pride in being a volunteer at Eventide Lutheran Home for several years and enjoyed visiting with people at the Kaffe Haus.

Marlys had an amazing work ethic and was a caring servant to everyone she met. She served her church through working as a custodian, along with John, and was one of the regular "Funeral Ladies," planning and serving lunches. She was always willing to find a way to help others out. Marlys loved when others would come by her condo for coffee and any possible social outings with friends. She enjoyed traveling to see family and taking trips to area casinos with friends. As a true "people person," being with family and friends was most important to her.

Marlys is survived by her son, Timothy (Rosemarie), Apache Junction, AZ; daughter, Wanda (Dennis) Walseth, Moorhead; brother, Noran (Agnes) Olson, Minot, ND; five grandchildren, Tony (Heather) Chrissis, Farmington, MN, Melinda Harris, Blue Springs, MO, Sam (Stephanie) Walseth, St. Paul, MN, Briony (Andy) Wright, Chaska, MN, and Caitlin (Pete Tartaro, fiancé) Walseth, Shakopee, MN. In addition, she leaves ten great-grandchildren; Anthony and Austin Chrissis, Alex and Andrew Dominick, Cameron and Zachary Harris, Lucy, Vera and Clara Wright and Graham Walseth.

Marlys was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; five sisters; several nieces; nephews; and precious friends.

Memorials are preferred to Dilworth Lutheran Church or Eventide Lutheran Home.
