Marvin Jerome Gunnarson born July 12, 1930 in Grafton, N. Dakota, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at his home in Havre, MT.
Marvin graduated from Twin Valley High School. He married Marilyn Joyce Hoag on June 13, 1955 in Moorhead, MN. He earned a BA from Central Bible Institute, a BS from Moorhead State University, and a MS from Texas A&M. He retired from teaching in Havre, MT. He will be best known for his service to the community through annual youth retreats, an ongoing fair ministry, a community soup kitchen, and weekly church services at the Eagles Manor rest home.
Marvin is survived by his wife Marilyn (Hoag) Gunnarson of Havre, MT; sons Daryl (Roxann) of Cincinnati, OH, Dean (Donna) of La Crosse, WI and Dennis (Laura) of Tacoma, WA; daughter Susan (Keith) Hanger of Havre, MT; grandchildren Joel, Kyle & Ryan all of Cincinnati, OH, Melissa, Cameron, Greta & Kirsten of La Crosse, WI, Emily of Tacoma, WA, Nikki, Samantha & Joshua of Havre, MT; sisters Lois (Floyd) Wibbels of Mahnomen, MN, Fran (Jim) Allen of Blaine, MN; brothers David of Golf Port, MS; Howard (Ruth) of Yakima, WA.
He was preceeded in death by father Gust Gunnarson and mother Alma (Sivertson)
A family service will be held at Korsmo Funeral Chapel 409 S. 8th St in Moorhead, MN on Saturday at 2:00pm. He will be buried in Harwood, ND.
