Marvin H. Schlick

Marvin Herman Schlick died peacefully on October 19, 2022, after a short illness.

Marvin was born on August 28, 1942, in Mahnomen, MN, to Norbert and Katherine (Haider) Schlick, growing up on the family farm in Mahnomen. He graduated from Mahnomen High School and moved to Moorhead, MN, to attend Moorhead State University.

Marvin met the love of his life, Cynthia Kersting, while both were in high school. They married young and welcomed three children, Jacqueline, Brian and Michael. Marv instilled a love of the outdoors to his kids. They all enjoyed hunting, boating, snowmobiling and taking many nature drives.

Marv spent his life in sales, eventually getting his real estate license and spending 40 plus years in that line of work, making many friends along the way. He was always ready for an adventure, and if you spent time with him you were guaranteed to have a lot of laughter!

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Jacque (Kevin Karel) and her son, Jacob, Lake Park MN; son, Brian (Jan) and their children, Sophie and Angus, Moorhead, and son, Michael (Laura James) and his sons, Andrew, Christian, and Samuel, Fargo. He is also survived by his siblings, Earl Schlick and Sharon (Richard) Jokumsen; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; grandchild, Matthew; brother, Ervin; and sister, Geraldine.

Visitation for Marvin will be Monday, October 24, 2022, from 5 – 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
