Marvin W. Krabbenhoft

Marvin W. Krabbenhoft, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Sabin, MN, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, at the age of 93.

Marvin Warren Krabbenhoft was born to Henning and Mary (Huesman) Krabbenhoft, on May 6, 1924, on the family farm near Sabin. He grew up and attended school in rural Sabin. He graduated from Moorhead State Normal School thereafter.

On July 25, 1953, Marvin was married to Betty Johnson, of Euclid, MN at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND, and in Sabin, prior to making their home in rural Sabin in 1970. Marvin farmed with his brothers, Kenneth and Duaine, until he retired in 1988. They raised wheat, sugar beets, and certified seed potatoes. He enjoyed dark house spear fishing, summer fishing trips to Canada, deer hunting, watching Jeopardy and the Minnesota Twins on TV in his later years, and spending time with family and numerous groups of friends. Marvin was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin.

In July of 2013, Marvin became a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, Moorhead; four children, Keith (Darla) Krabbenhoft, Sabin, Terry Krabbenhoft, Moorhead, James Krabbenhoft, Sabin, and Roger (Bonnie) Krabbenhoft, Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Adam (Tara), Austin, Allison, and Hanna Krabbenhoft; two great-grandchildren, Rylan and Rhianna Krabbenhoft; and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Nettie Krabbenhoft.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Lorraine Sauter, Kenneth, Duaine, Delmar and Leslie Krabbenhoft.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Eventide on Eighth, with a special admiration for the care which was provided by Andrew, Brody, and Austin. Their attention to Marvin's needs made his time at Eventide as good as it could possibly be.
The family would prefer any memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research.

Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2017, from 5 PM to 7 PM, with prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His funeral will be Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 2 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin.
