https://portal.midweststreams.com/services/watch/40c243b9Nw Mary Anderson Schmitt, 54, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.
Mary Lynne Anderson was born on January 23, 1966, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Lee) Anderson. Mary was raised in Detroit Lakes, graduating in the class of '84. After high school, she joined the United States Navy, and spent five years working for the Pentagon. She loved her time in the service and wished she could have done more.
Mary returned to Minnesota after her career in the Navy. She spent the last 13 years working for the City of Moorhead (MN) in the neighborhood services department. Throughout the years since returning to the area, she enjoyed spending time with those she had an opportunity to work with.
In 2005, Mary married Kevin, the love of her life. With that marriage came three wonderful stepchildren. Mary was a people person. She loved being around all her family and friends. Twenty-one months ago, they welcomed their first granddaughter. She enjoyed bingo, traveling, visiting casinos, and spending time with The Bowling Girls (and Kevin). When Mary entered a room, energy came along. Her nieces and nephews referred to her as the "fun aunt." One described her as never failing to be "both hilariously relatable and at the same time ⦠able to show kindness and love to â¦.. everyone." Mary had a beautiful personality; she was quick to laugh and had a great sense of humor.
Mary joins her mother, Ruth, in their Heavenly home. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin; step-children, Jenny, Patrick, and Brandy; granddaughter, Amelia; father, Carl; brothers, Jeff, Greg (Jennifer) , and Rob (Krista) Anderson; her sibling-in-laws Phyllis (David), Bill (Vicki), Carla(Lon), David (Sharley) and Keith(Joni); and many nieces and nephews. Mary will be missed by all.
