Mary H. Vondal, 85, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Mary Helen Dauphanais was born on November 21, 1936, to Charles and Celina (St. Vincent) Dauphanais, in Olga, ND.

Mary was united in marriage to Alexander Vondal, Jr. on October 14, 1953, in Walhalla, ND. Together they raised five children. Mary held various jobs throughout the years. She worked as a housekeeper at St. Luke's Hospital for many years, and Holiday Inn Gift Shop as a cashier. She enjoyed working and took pride in what she did, always striving to do her best.

Mary was a kindhearted person, who always put other people's needs before her own. She loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them. Her home was always open to family and friends. She had a love for flowers, and typically received a bouquet for her birthday and other special days during the year.

She had a strong Catholic faith and regularly attended St. Anthony of Padua in Fargo, up until the pandemic started. She also enjoyed reading books, embroidery, and playing bingo.

Mary is survived by her children, Cameron (June) Vondal, Deb Broderson, Rose Knudtson, and Patricia Vondal; grandchildren, Ronald Broderson, Danny Vondal, Tina Vondal, Dillon Vondal, Michelle VanHeel; fifteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dileen Hess, and Doris Mathuews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Celina; ex-husband, Alexander; daughter, Loretta Jean Carlson; brothers, Percy Dauphanais, Odell Dauphanais, Edward Dauphanais, Larry Baker; and sister, Doreen Mager.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11 AM, in St. Anthony of Padua, Fargo, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
