Mary Helen Lawrence

Mary Helen Lawrence, 79, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in The Meadows on University, Fargo, ND.
Mary Helen Hill was born on January 31, 1940, to Donald and Mary Elizabeth "Babe" (Hilgendorf) Hill, in Minot, ND. Mary Helen was raised in Minot. She received her high school diploma from Sacred Heart Academy, Minot.
Mary Helen continued to live in Minot until she met and married Donald Lawrence, on August 24, 1968. The two relocated to Moorhead in 1971, along with their two children, Mary Theresa "Teri" and Martin "Rusty."
Mary Helen was strong in her Catholic faith. She regularly attended mass at St. Francis de Sales in Moorhead and was a Catholic Daughter and Christian Mother. Outside of the church, Mary Helen lived a simple life, enjoying time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could often be found playing bingo with close friends or relaxing with a good book. Mary Helen did her best to find joy in everything she did.
Mary Helen is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Mary Theresa (DJ) Hesse and Martin Lawrence; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Ramsett, Michelle Hornseth, Shaun (Erin) Ramsett, and Jesse (Kandra) Ramsett; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Father Donald W. Hill, and great-grandchild, Madilyn Grace Ramsett
Mary Helen's Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 2 PM, with a visitation one hour prior, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN, at a later date.
