Mary Kay Parsons

Mary Kay Parsons, 63, Fargo, ND, passed away April 14, 2017.

Mary was born March 6, 1954, to Lyle and Dorothy (Van Vlaenderen) Mitzel of Wahpeton, ND. She graduated from Wahpeton High School and attended NDSSS. She moved to Fargo and was employed by AVECO and Clay County Attorney's Office. Later, she worked for Shotwell Floral and Goldstar Services.

She married Gary Parsons on November 27, 1993. Mary enjoyed the lakes and gardening. She was always there for family and friends in celebratory and difficult times. Much like any outstanding mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Mary put the needs of those around her above her own.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Grant; brother, Scott Mitzel, Aurora IL; brothers-in-law, Curtis (Linda) Parsons, Moorhead, and Hal (Ann) Parsons, Fargo; sister-in-law, Nancy (Carl) Potratz, Zumbrota, MN; niece, Sarah (Todd) Johnson; nephews, Eric (Heather) Mickelson, Lucas (Kristen) Mitzel, and Logan Mitzel; and great-nephews/nieces Colten and Sadie Mickelson, McKenzie Johnson, and Matthew Mitzel.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's parents; a sister, Linda; brother-in-law, Gregory Parsons; sister-in-law, Sophie Mitzel; niece, Allison Deutscher, her husband Aaron, and their daughter, Brielle.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 4:30 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN. The Funeral service is Thursday April 20, 2017, at 11 AM, in Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo. Burial will be Thursday, at 3 PM in the Ada Cemetery, Ada, MN.
