Mary Lou Anderson

Mary Lou (Bueide) Anderson was born February 24, 1930, to Oscar and Marie Bueide. The family lived on a farm near Rustad, MN, and moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1936. Mary Lou attended Moorhead High School and graduated in 1947. She attended Concordia College, where she met her husband, Thomas S. Anderson, whom she married on October 2, 1948. Tom passed away in 2007. Since then, Mary Lou was a resident of Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes, MN, where she died on Saturday, June 15, 2013.
After their marriage, Mary Lou and Tom moved to Perham, MN, for two years and then moved to Moorhead, where she worked at Moorhead City Hall and the Moorhead Street Department. They then resided in North Mankato, MN, Milwaukee, WI, and finally moved to Mt. Prospect, IL, in 1964. Mary Lou was employed for 20 years as an administrative assistant, and, at the time of her retirement, the secretary to the executive in charge of the Des Plaines, IL, office of the Austin Company. When she retired in 1993, they moved back to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Mary Lou was a kind and generous person who loved to travel. She also loved spending time at the cabin on White Earth Lake. Mary Lou had many talents, including being a seamstress and an expert hand knitter. She loved to play bridge.
Mary Lou is lovingly survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Larry) Hastad Aarestad, Ogema, MN, and Virginia (Daniel) Donovan, Superior, WI; six grandchildren, Jessica, Anne-Marye, Adrienne, Clifton, Caroline, and Stephanie; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Robert, Annika, Cleighton, Thomas, Owen, Katherine, and Claire; one sister, Opal (Wayne) Pennypacker, Vienna, VA; three sisters-in-law, Audrey Bueide, Fargo, Kathlynn Anderson, Moorhead, Anna Schneider, Moorhead; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerome Bueide.

Visitation: Wednesday, 5 PM until 7 PM, with prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral: Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 11 AM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
