Mary Lou Ronning, 85, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Mary Lou South was born August 16, 1931, the daughter of Lyle and Isabelle (Harbin) South, in Bemidji, MN. She moved with her mother and sister to Hannah, ND, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1950. Mary Lou moved to Halstad, MN, where she met and married Arnold Ronning on December 16, 1950.
They made their home in Hendrum, MN, where over the years, Mary Lou worked at a waitress in Halstad, Shelly and Ada, MN. Mr. Ronning died in 1987. She lived in Hendrum until 1997 when she moved to Moorhead. Mary Lou was currently a resident of Arbor Park in Moorhead.
Mary Lou was a member of the Halstad American Legion Auxiliary and later the Moorhead American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jean Stene and Diane Schock both of Black Hawk, SD, and Kathy Habeck, Belle Fourche, SD; sons, Larry (Judy) Ronning, Shelly, MN, and Kenny (Marge) Ronning, McIntosh, MN; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; half-sister, Grace Watkins, and special friend, Selvin Nygard, Moorhead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; son, Daryl; a sister and a half-brother.
A visitation for Mary Lou will be Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Climax, MN.
