Mary Lynn Holthe was born October 15, 1941, to Rollo and Cora (Winjum) Lewis. She was born and raised in Fargo, ND, the fifth of nine children.
Mary married Don Holthe on March 11, 1961. Their journey together started in Fargo, and it took them to several places throughout Minnesota, returning to Moorhead in 1971, where they lived for the last forty-six years. During those years, Mary pursued her interest in numbers by working in cash management at MeritCare, manager of The Nestor, bookkeeper for the Harbor School, and secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 21.
Over the years, Mary enjoyed baking with grandkids and great-grandkids, gardening, golfing and riding her motorcycle. No matter how far it was, Mary often travelled to many school programs and athletic events for all her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, showing pride in every win and loss. Mary was a caregiver at heart, opening her home to cousins, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great-grandkids, offering them a home to live in, a mother's guidance or a strong shoulder to lean on when needed.
Mary loved to help others by volunteering at the Veterans Hospital and other organizations up until her health started challenging her.
Mary has gone to join her loved ones who have been waiting for her: parents, Rollo and Cora Lewis; brothers, E.W. "Wayne" and Robert "Bobby"; sister, Carol Arzt; in-laws, Harold and Irene; brothers-in-law, Carl and Nick; grandchildren, Brittney Fingalson, Blair Fingalson, Michael Erbes; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Fingalson.
She is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Kimberley Holthe, Shelly Fingalson, and Sherry (Marty) Erbes; grandchildren, Brock (Allyson) Fingalson, Blake (Connie) Fingalson, Kira (Wyatt) Jordheim, Barrett (Kristin) Erbes, Faron (Aron) Sperry, Jacob Erbes, and Zachary Erbes; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jasta, Jayna, Lyla, Wyatt, Mya, Rylee, Maryanna, Jordy, and Ulric.
