Mary Maxon, age 99 of Richardson Texas, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, August 12, 2006, at a nursing home in Richardson, Texas.
Mary Jensen was born January 14, 1907 in Skagen, Denmark. She came to the United States with her family, when she was 3. They made their home in the Ulen-Hitterdal, MN area, where Mary grew up and received her education.
On May 5, 1928, Mary was united in marriage to Fred L. Maxson, at Hitterdal. Shortly after their marriage they made their home in Moorhead, MN, where Mary served as the director of Christian Education at First Congregational-United Church of Christ. In 1964, they moved to Mora, MN, where they spent their summers and San Antonio, Texas, where they spent the remainder of the year. Fred died on June 19, 1969.
After his death, Mary lived in Texas. For the last 25 years, she lived with her daughter, Joyce, in Richardson, Texas.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Edith (Allen) Drummond, Gem Lake, MN, and Joyce (John) Anderson, Richardson; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
