Maurice Ingvald Hansen was born January 12, 1936, to Ingvald and Martha (Fugleberg) Hansen, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Dilworth, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1954. Maurice enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1958 where he served for twenty-nine years.
On October 24, 1959, Maurice married Glenice Miller in Fergus Falls, MN. They made their home in Dilworth where they raised their two sons. Maurice worked as a truck driver for various businesses including NP Transport, Red Owl, Super Valu, and Transystems Inc., from which he retired in 1999. In 1997, after living for thirty-eight years in Dilworth, Maurice and Glenice moved to rural Glyndon, MN.
Maurice battled with cancer and was taken from his family and given to the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at the age of sixty-nine. He was receiving loving care in his home from the Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Maurice will be remembered for his love of old cars. He would spend many hours collecting and restoring them. He was a hard worker and a man of strong faith.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Glenice, Glyndon; two sons, Glen, Wolverton, MN, and Marty, Glyndon; a granddaughter, Molly Jean, Wolverton; a sister, Darlene (Ken) Loomes, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and their two sons, Brent and Corey Loomes. He was preceded in death by his parents.
