Mavis E. Kjos, age 60, of Fargo, ND, died at her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006.
Mavis Elyce Allen, the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Brekhus) Allen, was born June 25, 1946 in Minot, ND. She grew up and received her education in Mohall, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1964. Mavis later attended beauty colleges in Denver, CO, and in Minot.
On August 21, 1967, Mavis was united in marriage to Robert Kjos, at Mohall. Following their marriage, they lived at Sherwood, ND, where Mavis worked as a beautician. In 1989, the family moved to Fargo, where Mavis worked at the Expressway Inn, at Oak Manor Mobil Home Court and owned and operated a cleaning service in Fargo.
In addition to her parents, Mavis was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jr., who died in 1999, and a brother, Kenneth.
Mavis is survived by her husband, Robert, Fargo; a son, Danny, also of Fargo; a sister, Carol (Harry) Evanger, Mohall; and three brothers, Delmar (Judy) Allen, Yucca Valley, CA, Calman (Laura) Allen, Arena, ND, and Randall Allen, Mohall.
