Maxine Elliott, 93, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo, surrounded by her family.
J. Maxine Waters, the daughter of Oscar and Stacy (Dillavau) Waters, was born in Lanesboro, Iowa, on November 6, 1917. She grew up and received her education in Iowa.
On December 7, 1935, Maxine married Alden Seymour. Alden and Maxine had a daughter, Charlotte, who was born in 1939, and died January 4, 1940. After her daughter's death, Maxine moved to California and later to Oregon, where she met Burton Elliott.
Burton and Maxine where united in marriage on April 3, 1946, in Holt, MN. They lived and worked in a number of communities in Minnesota and in Oregon. In 1976, they moved to Fargo, where they lived since. Burton died in 1990. Following his death, Maxine continued to live in north Fargo, where she was the ceramics room instructor at New Horizons Manor, until 2009.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Marvin (Elsie) Elliott, Casselton, ND, and William (Sandra) Elliott, Deerwood, MN; a granddaughter, Kassandra Elliott; and three great-grandchildren, Angil McNutt, Lyle McNutt, and Pat McNutt, Jr.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Burton; her infant daughter, Charlotte; her parents; a sister, Pauline Morton; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Elliott.
Visitation: Thursday, 3 to 6 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Friday, April 29, 2011, at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
