Maxine Ruby Stark

April 13, 1920 — October 30, 2011

Maxine Ruby Rudshagen was born April 13, 1920, on the family farm near Noonan, ND, to John and Julia (Ellingson) Rudshagen. In 1936, the family moved to Felton, MN, where Maxine played basketball and graduated from high school. She attended Moorhead State Teacher's College for one year and then moved to Hollywood, CA, where she worked for the world famous "Brown Derby" restaurant.

Maxine's heart remained in Felton, where she returned to marry the love of her life, Jess Stark, on December 8, 1944. They farmed in the Felton area for almost 50 years. Maxine and Jess loved to travel, golf and dance. Many winters were spent in the warmth of Arizona. Maxine was active in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton community, and the Viding Birthday Club. Jess died in 1994, and Maxine moved to Moorhead, MN, three years later. There she enjoyed walking, doing crafts, and spending time with family and friends.

Maxine passed into the peace of eternity on October 30, 2011 at the age of 91 years young. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Jess; her parents; sisters, Corrine Olek and Julaine Rudshagen; and brothers, Clifford and Adolph Rudshagen.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Jake) Cadwallader, Maple Grove, MN, and Ross (Janet) Stark, Jamestown, ND; a brother, Orris Rudshagen; six grandchildren who were the joy of her life and who will always have a special place in their hearts for Grandma, Jessica Cadwallader, Rachele (Owen) King, Joshua (Gina) Cadwallader, Ryan (Jill) Stark, and Chelsey (Tim Gauer, fiancé) and Megan Stark; and three precious great-grandchildren, Jacob and Elsie King and Jess Cadwallader.

The family extends their thanks to Linden Tree at Eventide and "Pearl's Place" at Edgewood Vista for all of the moments of joy they provided her. A special thank you to Sanford Palliative Care for the comfort and support given in Maxine's final days.
