Maxine Schreiner, 82, Moorhead, MN, formerly Cotton Lake, MN, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.
Maxine Schreiner, daughter of Carrie Beggs and Lloyd Leach, was born July 8, 1926. She made her home with her grandparents, Mamie and Otto Beggs, in Moorhead, where she grew up and attended school. Her first job, at age 16, was at Eddy's Coffee Shop in Moorhead. From there she went to work at the Columbia Café, where she met the love of her life, Victor "Red" Schreiner.
On August 28, 1946, they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. They spent 57 years loving and caring for one another. Unfortunately, Victor passed away on April 4, 2003, and she knows he will be waiting with open arms in heaven.
She enjoyed their many summers at their lake home on Cotton Lake, and traveling to their winter get-away in Mesa, AZ, for 18 winters. She loved to travel and to go dancing every Friday night with her friends.
Maxine was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Moorhead VFW Auxiliary.
Maxine loved her family. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and also a great-great-grandmother. She is survived by three sons, Roger (Sharon), Wayne (Sue), and Darrel; five grandchildren, Shelly (Perry), Mike (Melissa), Chris, Jessi, and
Visitation: Wednesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
