Melda M. LaRoque

Melda Martell was born March 31, 1919 in Culbertson, MT. She lived in Underwood, Iowa, and in the Fargo-Moorhead area from 1990 to about 2005. She moved to Atchison, Kansas, where she had lived since. She died in a hospital in Atchison, on Sunday May 15, 2011, at the age of 92.
Melda was married on October 27, 2937 to Edmond LaRoque. He died on December 18, 1993. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sophia (Lambert) Martell; children Donald, Joseph, Darlene and Sherry LaRoque; a grandchild; and eight brothers and sisters.
Melda is survived by daughters, Janice Ann Alpert, Atchison, Kansas, Cheryl Diane (Dennis) Bennett, Denver, CO, Judy Marlene (Ernie) Hecker, Dickinson, ND, Linda Lou (Lawrence) Homan, Missoula, MT, and Wanda Jean Verbeck, Billings, MT; sons, Ronald Edmond (Carol) LaRoque, Fingal, ND, Robert James LaRoque, Fargo, ND, Edmond Thomas LaRoque, Fargo, and Joseph Anthony LaRoque, Atchinson; brothers, George Martell, Sidney, MT, and Floyd Martell, Poplar, MT; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, 4 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo.
Burial: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Fargo.
