Melvin A. Nelson, age 79, of Wolverton, MN, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.
Melvin Arthur Nelson was born January 11, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up and received his education in the Wolverton area. On July 28, 1950, he was united in marriage to Arlene Foss at rural Walcott, ND. Following their marriage, they made their home in rural Wolverton, where they farmed.
On September 22, 1953, Melvin joined the US Army. He served in Colorado, and was honorably discharged on June 21, 1955. Following his discharge, the family returned to the Wolverton area, where Melvin continued to farm.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene, Wolverton; four sons, Bradley (Veronica) Nelson, Wolverton, S. Ted (Linnea) Nelson, Oakton, Virginia, Duane (Natalie) Nelson, Wolverton, and Thomas Nelson, Germantown, Maryland; and by three grandchildren.
