Michael Edward Zopfi was born May 31, 1953, in Bryant, TX, to Wallace and Janice (Jenson) Zopfi. The family lived in a number of areas, including Florida and the Twin Cities area, while Michael was growing up. His father was serving in the United States Air Force.
Michael served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He married Gayle Hedley and they made their home in the Twin Cities. Michael worked for Cargill and eventually owned and operated his own water softener business.
Michael married Miranda Windecker, at Alida, MN, on August 11, 2001, and they lived in the Twin Cities. They later moved to Moorhead, MN. Michael died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, at fifty-five years of age.
Michael is survived by his wife, Miranda, Moorhead; four daughters, Amanda Zopfi and Tiffany Zopfi, both Minneapolis, MN, and Kylie Windecker and Kayla Zopfi, both Moorhead; a son, Thomas Zopfi, Moorhead; mother, Janice (Jim) Locke, Albertville, MN; two sisters, Sherrie (Roger) Lutgen, Maple Grove, MN, and Cathy Hamer, Prior Lake, MN; and a brother, Terry Zopfi, Ocala, FL.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Wallace; and a brother, David.
Visitation for Michael will be one hour before the funeral at the church.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 11 AM, in Believers Fellowship Family Church, Moorhead.
Burial will be Saturday at 3:30 PM, in Alida Cemetery, Alida, MN.
