Milan D. Olson

Milan Dean Olson, 85, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Milan was born December 24, 1932, to Odin and Gerda (Walz) Olson, in rural Collis, MN. He was baptized into the Christian faith on January 29, 1933, by Reverend A. Gjerke, in Collis, and was confirmed on December 24, 1948, by Reverend Eyrich Hansen, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead, where he was a member for seventy-five years.

Milan graduated from Moorhead High School in 1952. He enlisted in the US Army, serving two years, including seventeen months in Germany. On May 3, 1958, Milan was united in marriage to Marlys Ross at First Lutheran Church in Fargo. They had one son, Michael. Milan worked for FM Vending in Fargo, for forty-two years, retiring in 1998. He was an avid fisherman.

Milan is survived by his wife of sixty years, Marlys, Moorhead; son, Michael, Fargo; sister, Donna Lauinger, Moorhead; brother, Stanley (Margaret), Moorhead; sister-in-law, Sharon Bohnsack (Bruce), Fargo; nephews, Christopher Olson (Lynne), Moorhead, and Brian Roberts (Vicki), West Fargo, ND; nieces, Kim Buhaug (Karl) Moorhead, Vikki Munro, Fargo; and Christine Artamenko, Fargo; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Vivian; brother-in-law, Jerry Roberts; sister-in-law, Cheryl Artamenko; nephew, John David Olson, and great-niece, Hayden Sinner.

The family wishes to thank the many loving caregivers at Villa Maria. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM, followed by the funeral at 2 PM, Friday, June 15, 2018, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
