Muriel A. Frisco

Muriel Frisco, 89, of Dilworth, MN, was welcomed into heaven and the arms of her husband on April 12, 2019. She passed peacefully under the care of Hospice and her loving family while in her home at Serenity Assisted Living.

Muriel was born June 22, 1929, to Albin G. and Myrtle (Carlsrud) Durling at St. John's Hospital in Fargo. She grew up in Dilworth and graduated from Dilworth High School. Her favorite job was working for the Silver Spike in Dilworth, where she was employed for many years.

Muriel loved playing with her paper dolls as a child and living on the farm. Muriel met the love of her life, Sam Frisco Jr. "Swede" in 1944 and was married October 2, 1950. They made their home in Dilworth, where they raised their five children. Before Swede's passing in 2016, Muriel and Swede were blessed with sixty-five years of marriage.

Muriel loved a house full of family and friends, whether a holiday celebration, a game of cards, or to watch a Twins game. Her warm heart, infectious smile, and gentle nature made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Muriel always graciously made room for company around her kitchen table, whether it was for afternoon coffee and a sweet treat or enjoying her famous spaghetti dinner and homemade chocolate cake. Muriel was often surrounded by three generations of family and friends making lasting memories.

Muriel is survived by her children, Linda (Joe) Carlson, Gary (Melinda) Frisco, Mark (Sheila) Frisco, Donna Pickering, and Laurie Frisco; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorraine Fawcett.

Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Frisco Jr.; brother, Arlan Durling; and granddaughter, Samantha Frisco.

Muriel's family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Serenity Assisted Living and Hospice of the Red River Valley for all of their guidance, professionalism, and compassion.

A Gathering of Friends will be Tuesday, April 16, 2019, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by her Memorial Service at 11 AM in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.
