Muriel Winnefred (Dawson) Olson was born December 22, 1939, in Moorhead MN, to Ralph and Gladys (Harson) Dawson. The family eventually moved to Dilworth, MN, where Muriel graduated from high school.
After high school, Muriel married Lowell Olson on January 23, 1960. They lived in Dilworth and had a son, Dean, in 1960. They moved to California for a short time and then moved back to Dilworth and were blessed with another son, Duane, in 1967. She worked for a short time for the Silver Spike Motel prior to working for AmeriPride for thirty-one years before retiring.
Muriel died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND, surrounded by family.
She is survived by her sons, Dean (Valerie) Olson, and Duane (Cindy) Olson of Moorhead; grandchildren, Cassandra, Jacob, Gregory, Ryan, Stephan, and Erik; siblings, R. Donald (Theresa) Dawson, Moorhead, Gladys (Gordon) Black, John Day, OR, Curtis (Shirley) Dawson, Lynnwood WA, Shirley (Grant) Mohr, Moorhead, and Gary (Sharon) Dawson, Moorhead; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her parents; brothers, Floyd, Alfred and Owen; and sister, Theo.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 11AM, at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.
