Myrtle A. Dahl, 97, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 20, 2009 in the Golden Living Center, Moorhead
Myrtle Almyra Wilson was born February 16, 1912, in Granite Falls, MN, to Clarence and Tilda (Kjellberg) Wilson. She attended District 4 Country School.
Myrtle worked for a time as a housekeeper for local families and also cared for her youngest sister, Ann. She then began working at a grocery store in Wegdahl, MN, where she met her future husband, Adrian Dahl.
Myrtle and Adrian were married June 26, 1938, in Granite Falls and they made their home in Wegdahl, eventually moving to Minnesota Falls, MN, then Montevideo, MN, due to Adrian's work. In 1953, they moved to Morris, MN, and Myrtle worked at a grocery store there. In 1961, they moved to Moorhead where Myrtle worked as a cook for Warren's Café and the Viking Room at the Holiday Mall. In 1980, Myrtle and Adrian moved to Fargo, ND. On February 7, 1983, Adrian died and Myrtle continued to make her home in Fargo.
Myrtle was a member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, for over forty years. In her retirement years, she was an active member of the quilter's group. She also enjoyed cross word puzzles and she loved to crochet, making over 100 afghans. But, Myrtle's greatest joy was her family who she loved dearly.
She is survived by four children, Yvonne Anderson, Glenwood, MN, JoAnn (Robert) Stone, Fargo, Sharol (Richard) Filipi, Park Rapids, MN, and Curtis Dahl, Fargo; a sister, Ann Frederick, Fairborn, OH; and thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchild
