Myrtle Livdahl

Myrtle Elaine Currier was born to Clarence and Leola (Hass) Currier on April 5, 1929, at the family home near Dumont, MN. She attended country school and graduated from Fergus Falls (MN) High School.

Myrtle received nurses training at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo, ND, and had a long career in nursing. She worked at St. Luke's Hospital, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead Manor and Bethany Nursing Home. She worked in many other areas of nursing, including teaching, parish nursing and hospice.

Myrtle married James Livdahl on October 26, 1950, in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived on the family farm near Rustad, MN, where they raised their six children. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1988.

Myrtle passed away Sunday night, August 18, 2013 in Sanford Hospital, Fargo, at eighty-four years of age.

Myrtle is survived by her husband, James; children, Greg (Barb) Livdahl, Bainbridge Island, WA, Carol (Craig) Zempel, Willmar, MN, Lee (Julie) Livdahl, Pelican Rapids, MN, Gail (Nate) Schroder, Saint Cloud, MN, Peter (Deb) Livdahl, Moorhead, and Thomas (Laurie) Livdahl, Moorhead; siblings, Darlys Emerson, Spokane WA, Joyce (Duane) Boese, Elk River, MN, Chuck Currier, Northwood, ND, Rita Nemeth, Fargo, and Betty Jean (Gary) Carlson, Larimore, ND; sister-in-law, Patricia Formo, Fergus Falls; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews for which she cared dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Eugene and Todd Currier.

Visitation for Myrtle will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 11 AM, in Hoff Lutheran Church, Rustad, MN.

Burial will follow in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
