Myrtle Mathilda Person was born at St. Hilaire, MN, on March 10, 1920, to Emil and Lilly Person. She married Leonard Wick of Maddock, ND, on November 24, 1945. They had two children, Linda (Harold) Legreid of Perham and Judy (Chuck) Dodge of St. Paul.
Myrtle and her family lived in Leeds, Turtle Lake, Walhalla, St. John and Maddock where Leonard was involved in education. After Leonard's death in 1969, Myrtle moved to Grand Forks where she worked for J. C. Penney for 16 years. She retired and moved to Wahpeton to be near family. In 1989 she moved to Fargo.

She was also a volunteer at Oak Grove Lutheran School and Probstfield Elementary School in Moorhead, MN. She received the Moorhead Schools "Volunteer of the Year" award in 1996. Myrtle enjoyed the outdoors and planted flowers each year at her apartment. She liked to travel and visit family-which were always her favorite times.
