Myrtle E. Olson, age 97, died Tuesday, July 8 2003, at Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND.
Myrtle E. Olson was born near Sutton in Griggs County, ND, on August 29, 1905, the daughter of Alfred and Emma (Peterson) Olson. She attended school in Sutton, and then went to Valley City Normal School for teachers training. She taught in rural schools in Cooperstown, ND, areas for 13 years, including the Eastman school west of Sutton, the Haughton school near Cooperstown, and the Freer school near Karnak.
She managed their home on the family farm in Mabel Township near Sutton, ND, with her brother, Frank, until they moved to Cooperstown in 1966. She moved to Fargo in 1991 to live at The Evergreens and since November of 1999, she lived at Elim Care Center.
Myrtle traveled widely with her brother Frank and spent many winters in Florida and California. She was a longtime member of the Cooperstown Evangelical Free Church and supporter of the Cooperstown Bible Camp.
She is survived by five nieces and three nephews. Two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service on Monday.
