Nevada Emmadel Savageau

Nevada E. Savageau, 88, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Nevada Emmadel Porter was born on May 24, 1930, in Dickinson, ND, to Thomas and Emma (Markwart) Porter. While growing up in Medora, ND, she had the nickname, "Dolly." She married David A. Savageau on July 15, 1950, in Fargo, ND. They made their home in the Glyndon area.

Nevada is survived by her children, Kurt (Michelle) Savageau, Glyndon, Desiree (Lewy) Anderson, Malad, ID, Lance Savageau, Glyndon, Wade (Mary Cose) Savageau, Glyndon, and Tabbie (Tim) Marty, Rhome, TX; close friend, Jane (Roger) Jensen; sister, Cleo (Deane) Williams; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and a large host of great friends from the Clay County, MN, area. She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Savageau; parents, Tom and Emma Porter; sisters, Vivienne Kroh and Guida Karlstad; a brother, Willard Porter; and great-granddaughter, Angel Savageau.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2019, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the service. Funeral service for Nevada will be at 11 AM, Friday, March 1, 2019, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
